“I believe ... in Jesus Christ [God’s] only Son, our Lord.” 

This is where we divide ourselves from the rest of the monotheists in the world. They can accept a Creator God who rules it all. They can accept the need to approach Him in worship and through acts of obeisance. But they cannot and will not accept that God Himself became a man and lived among us. To many Jesus is merely a great teacher, a prophet, but when you read Scripture a different picture emerges. Jesus claims to be God Himself. (Mark 2; John 5; 6; 8 and 10)

This has been made especially clear to me as I have been doing a chronological study of the Bible with my Sunday School class at Calvary Chapel. There are so many things that Jesus did in His miracles alone that prove He is God. Take, for instance, the forgiving of sins (Mk. 2:1-12). The Pharisees understood right away who Jesus was claiming to be and rejected Him for it.

Jesus still makes the same claim today: He is God. Do we accept that or deny it? It is within this question that True Christianity finds its mark. If Jesus is God and Lord (both Yahweh, the personal God, and our Owner and Master) in our lives, then we are true Christians, otherwise we are merely living a farce.
